Happy World Kindness Day!

For those of you that don’t know, World Kindness Day is on November 13th. Since this blog is about caring for yourself, others and the world around you, I thought that it would be fitting to post about it.

World Kindness Day is a day to celebrate Kindness. This is right up Care, Eat, Inspire’s alley!

Here are some things that would be great to celebrate this wonderful day!

Self Care

Being kind to yourself is where it all begins. You can’t pour water from an empty cup!

I used my time to take a walk on this beautiful autumn day soaking in the slightest of details and being intentional about where I traveled. The wind was brisk, the leaves were various shades of red, yellow and orange. Those bright colors, a nod to the warm and vibrant summer months now in memories past. Leaves blithely falling to the ground right in front of my very eyes, telling me that times are changing whether I’m prepared or not. The small red birds chirping, the same energetic golden doodle barking as I walk in front of his house and those same warm colored leaves crunching between my shoes and the sidewalk as I continue my travels. It was peaceful and just the time outside that I craved.

Volunteer- Care for Others

I love to volunteer any time of the year. One place that I’ve spent a good amount of time at this year is the Food Bank. My local food bank has a mask mandate and glove requirement so we are all protected. It is surprising a lot of fun to package and sort food! It is a great place to catch up with old friends over a pallet of potatoes and just laugh about crazy nights or chat about fun day trips to come!

If you are experiencing food insecurity please reach out to your local food panty near you.

Geocaching- Care for the Earth

Geocaching is like a real world treasure hunt. You connect to an app, find logs near you and sign them to represent that you found the treasure, but what I do to make it special is I pick up trash along my way and dispose of it or recycle things that are able to be recycled. It allows me to have fun, get a work out as well as stay kind to our earth.

Stay Kind, Eat Well, Get Inspired,

Alexis
